Entokuji Temple

Entokuji Temple
Entokuji Temple
The temple is related to Nobunaga Oda, who was the lord of Gifu Castle, and his grandson Hidenobu Oda.
In 1547, when Oda Nobuhide (Nobunaga's father) invaded Gifu (then called Inokuchi), he was defeated by Dosan Saito, and some 5,000 people died in the battle. Odazuka was built in Josenbo to mourn for the war dead. It is still enshrined in the precincts of Entokuji Temple.
In addition, Oda Nobunaga, who entered Gifu in 1567, put up a bill of "Rakuichiba Sada" in front of the gate of Entokuji Temple (then Josenbo), and in 1564 ), temple bells and other temple bells said to have been donated by Lord Nobunaga remain as temple treasures.
